In case you were wondering where I get my amazing ability to write articles of extreme interest, in topics as varied as the North and South Poles are separated (I’m kidding, of course!)… This is one of the first documented articles (in the form of a report) written by a younger me. 🙂
The POLAR BEAR by Thomas C. Beaton
Polar bears live in North and South Poles on ice floes and coastal area of the Antartic and Artic ocean. The scientific name for all bears is Ursidae.
The polar bears length ranges from 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 feet long and 3 to 4 feet high at shoulder. The polar bear weighs from 600 to 1,100 pounds. Its neck is long for getting fish and other animals easier.
The polar bears fur is white and very dense. Its fur is a poor conductor of heat. Its fur is kept well oiled by glands that help the body from getting wet in water. Heavy fur soles on the polar bears feet keep it from slipping on ice.
Polar bears usually eat fish but when fish are not available they will eat seaweed, grasses, and roots.
They breed when 3 to 4 years old.
Polar bears rarely attack man only when trapped or extremely hungry.
